Your degree for the love of sport!
Specialisation: Sports Management
Sports as a business sector shows continuous growth. Sports management and sports marketing have become complex international industries. This means that there is growing demand for managers who are both experts in sports and sporting systems and possess the relevant business expertise to effectively organise and execute the work conducted within sporting organisations, commercial sports operations, sports facilities or sports administration.
Against the backdrop of current trends such as digitalisation, new business models are emerging and the sporting industry is developing dynamically. Growing complexity in the sporting sector’s business structures and the scope of activities involved create the need for professional management. With its emphasis on practical applications, the dual work–study degree optimally prepares students for dealing with the specific characteristics of the sporting industry. The programme imparts key skills that students will need in their future work as well as industry-specific management methods with a focus on organisation, marketing, finance and financial controlling. The solid business skills that this qualification is based on prepare graduates for taking management positions with a lot of responsibility within the broad professional spectrum of the sporting industry. Study the way you want!
Being flexible isn’t just important for a successful career; it’s also a guiding principle at the hwtk. When you study at our University, you can organise your studies to suit your needs. Decide what’s best for you: classic full-time studies, integrated theory and practice in the dual work–study model or distance learning that is independent of time and place.
Should your circumstances change and you want to switch to another model for your studies, this is possible at the end of a semester.
Dual work–study model
The dual work–study model incorporates practical experience: You spend half of the week with us at the University and the other half working at a cooperating company. The split-week model: the perfect mix of theory and practice!
At the hwtk we believe in hands-on experience. That’s why our full-time programmes have been set up with two intensive study days per week: This way you have enough time left during the week to gain work experience.
