The hwtk has had a new chancellor since 28 November 2017. Lars-Christian Klinnert, who has held the position provisionally since October, is a member of the university’s management alongside the president and vice president. He is responsible for administration, in particular personnel, legal, construction and budget matters. He will remain headmaster of the F+U Academy of Languages Berlin, also a subsidiary of F+U Group. At the academy, among other things, prospective international students work hard to improve their German for university studies.

The thirty-eight-year-old is looking forward to new challenges and synergies: “The year 2018 will probably be the most important since our university was founded. We have established ourselves in the market, but at the same time we have continued closely listening to our clients – students as well as companies – in order to develop fresh ideas for the future. We will grow sustainably, shift our position to be significantly more international and become one of Berlin’s most attractive universities. The year will hold quite a few surprises: we hope the university’s partners and friends are as excited as we are.”

The appointment as chancellor is initially valid for four years.
